Riad Kafila

We sadly stayed here only for 1 night. Wish we could spend more time in the lovely town of Essaouira and in Riad Kafila. The team of the riad made us feel extremely welcome and right at home. They were super nice and helpful. Our room (no 3) overlooking the Atlantic Ocean had one of the best views ever. It was amazing to wake up and watch the huge ocean waves crashing on the rocks. Breakfast was plentiful, tasty and very generous, we didn't need lunch that day! Location is also good, very close to the city walls, great for sunset. Some lovely restaurants in close vicinity and of course shopping.

Lanzarote

We were a group of 6 friends and we loved our stay at Riad Kafila. We had a warm welcome from Redouane who brought us some mint tea when we arrived..lovely comfortable rooms, and roof terrace with amazing sea views..where we took breakfast (A fantastic spread) in the morning..Perfect and quiet location near to the beach and ramparts but also a couple of minutes walk from the centre of the Medina with its colourful shops and cafes. Thanks also to Celine and all the staff for making this such a memorable stay..we loved it and will be back!

This Riad was a little gem! My family and I loved staying at Riad Kafila. The location over looking the beach was spectacular and the dining/lounge area was relaxing and picturesque. The location was also perfect and in close walking distance to everything. The staff was also wonderful and accomodating. We would definitely stay there again.

Very recommended Riad. Love the atmosphere in here and staff are polite and helpfull. One of the guys that works in here came all the way from the Riad to the main street yo show me the way to the Riad! Love it thanx guys and see u soon.

Stockport

This is a fabulous riad. We spent a week here and we were treated wonderfully! We stayed in room 2, a deluxe double, and the view over the small beach and the Atlantic was phenomenal! There is a large window that allow you to watch the waves from your bed. The room was beautiful, clean and we had fresh towels every day. When we first arrived we were greeted with mint tea and biscuits, a lovely touch! It was my birthday on the second day and the riad provided a beautiful cake with breakfast - what a lovely surprise. They arranged transfers to Marrakesh airport without any problem, even though we had to leave at 4:30 am!! The relaxed ambience and welcoming staff really made this a special place.

Philadelphia

An outstanding experience on all counts: Pre-arrival communication with Corinne, warm and hospitable welcome from Yousef upon our arrival, assistance with carrying our luggage to our upper-level room, the exquisite views of the ocean from our room's window, the comfort of the bed, quiet of our room, serene and stylish design of every space in the Riad, filling breakfasts, and nearly panoramic views of the ocean from the roof terrace. The location was PERFECT--right in the Medina. We felt so sad to leave...already planning for when we can return. Enthusiastically recommended!

Indeed we have been traveling already around the world, but within this Riad we felt very welcomed and treated like home! During our stay at Riad Karfial we have been so much amazed by this incredible team Omar, Abdel, Hamid, Youssef, Khadija and Naima, who took care about us everyday with a great hospitality and a very warm smile! Starting from the service, the rooms, the food, the wonderful interior, and also the awesome sea view, absolutely everything was just amazing! For sure we will recommend this lovely place to our friends and family for their stay in Essaouira and for us it‘s clear that we will come back for another stay.

Columbia

Perfect place to stay to visit Essaouira. On the side of the souks, and the battlements with the guns. Short walk to the harbor and fishmongers. Clean, quiet, safe, friendly staff, well decorated, perfect sea view. Breakfast served on the roof top is very rich with pastries, yogurt, orange juice, coffee, honey, marmalade, bred, a choice of eggs…

I've been lucky enough to stay several times at Riad Kafila - its location in the medina against the sea wall is excellent, and the team make you feel at home as soon as you arrive.Excellent use of months in lockdown means that the riad has been remodelled and redecorated. The ground floor has been transformed into a welcoming lounge/breakfast room, new bedrooms have been added on the second floor with a communal room on the third floor next to a more sheltered roof terrace.The overall effect is light and contemporary, with some traditional Moroccan touches.

We stayed at this Riad on recommendation. Our host Musine was friendly, helpful. A delightful fellow.The Riad has about 6 rooms over 2 levels with the lounge/breakfast room above overlooking the rocky beach below. The roof terrace gives expansive views over the coast. The room however was very small, and we found the amenities to be rather ‘rustic’

We stayed during a 2 week tour of Morocco. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and filling. The building was a travel issues because of the coronavirus outbreak and the staff did everything possible to make it feel like home and help us - thank you so much!

Excellent hospitality, delicious breakfast menu. The interior with the a lot of antique please of furniture, art, rugs. Very helpful stuff.The room window opens right to the Atlantic ocean with waves breaking over the riad walls.Thank you so much!

Lovely Riad in an absolutely amazing location. Close to the ramparts of the city and easy walking distance to everywhere in the medina. Cannot beat the views of the ocean from the breakfast room! Wish it had been warmer when we were there, because the rooftop terrace looked amazing! Staff were all wonderful and very helpful with arranging transportation for us. Breakfast was delicious too. Room was comfortable and clean, even if minimal frills. Be advised: cars are not allowed where the Riad is located, so you either need to carry your suitcases a decent distance or hire someone with a cart. Having the staff arrange for someone to meet us at the riad with a cart and having a cab waiting outside the medina for us was incredibly helpful.

Stayed 3 nights. Good filling breakfasts, lovely dinners. Good shower. Great ocean view from dining room. Small (but adequate) room with heater (needed in January!) Quiet but convenient location. Moussin and Abdul looked after us very well. Would definitely go back there another time

Baguio

One of my favorite riads in Morroco. This riad is picture perfect and the staff are very warm and friendly.The view from the Riad is stunning. The location is okay since we were able to go out and return to the Riad without getting lost. The map they provided was very accurate.We only stayed here one night but I wished we had stayed longer to enjoy it. We were not able to try their breakfast since we left the Riad quite early in the morning. The manager was already awake at 4am to assist us during our check out which I truly appreciated very much.The room was not that big, but it was able to provide a comfortable stay. The toilet was huge though.Highly recommended place to stay in Essaouira!

Great place to stay! Amazing coastal views, good breakfast, comfortable rooms, and a reasonable price. Right in the Médina near some good restaurants and attractions. Staff was very helpful to organize transport and activities.

We decided to stay in this riad mainly because of the nice ocean view - in real life it is even better than we had hoped!! We stayed in a room with ocean view and were definetely not disappointed! The whole riad is very clean and decorated with love. When we arrived, we were greeted by the extremely friendly staff and were served mint tea in the dining room before we were shown our room. We loved the atmosphere and felt very much at home!

Really nice and clean riad with a beautiful view .. . Staff were ready helpful and we felt welcomed by the people there.. they were like a nice family.. we felt like it was home , everything is close to the Riad.. the souq, the Medina , the restaurant and the beach,... would recommend it and will defo come back again to this wonderful Riad kafila..

Jacksonville

The old charm & beautiful antiques in this Riad, not to mention the convenient location, make it a hidden gem. Roof top views of the surf as the Riad built into the ancient city walls. Go to sleep to the bounding surf. Gorgeous breakfast/sitting room overlooking the ocean. Rooms cozy. Staff VERY helpful and even did a “wine run” for us so we could have HH. Walk outside & you are instantly transported to the past through narrow alleyways that turn into delightful shops mid day! Would DEFINATELY recommend.

Die Lage war phantastisch. Durch das Fenster sieht man den Strand und die tosende Gischt des Atlantik und hört sie bei offenem Fenster auch. Super auch die hübschen Frühstücksräume neben eine hübschen kleinen. Dachterasse, in und auf der gefrühstückt werden kann. Die Herren (leider wieder die Herren der Schöpfung, allerdings diesmal junge und freundliche) am Empfang sind sehr hilfsbereit!

Super Lage, gut zu erreichen vom Hafen. Man kann sich den Weg durch die Medina gut merken. Supernetter Manager. Das Zimmer wie gebucht mit Meerblick. Reichlich landestypisches Frühstück. Wir waren sehr zufrieden.

Schöne Innenausrichtung v.a. der Frühstücksraum und Dachterrasse haben eine Superview aufs Meer und sind ziemlich Wind geschützt. Zimmer sind nett, aber sehr klein,eng und ohne Aussicht. Sehr ruhig!

Ein sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Riad, hier trifft moderne Einrichtung auf traditionelle Elemente. Das Zimmer hatte einen tollen Meerblick und war total gemütlich. Das Riad hat eine schöne Dachterrasse mit Meerblick und auch im Frühstücksbereich bietet sich bei großen Glasfronten ein toller Blick auf die Wellen. Das Frühstück war gut, das Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Lage ist klasse, direkt in der Medina und sehr nah an der Skala.

Ich habe mir mit diesem Hotel preislich einmal ein bisschen mehr gegönnt, und das hat sich auch ausgezahlt. Das Personal war super freundlich und hilfsbereit, hat mir u.a. ein Hammam gebucht. Das Frühstück hat mir richtig gut gefallen, dazu in dem schönen Raum mit Meerblick. Ich durfte sehr früh einchecken und am Abreisetag noch länger vor Ort verweilen, habe sogar noch einen Tee und Kekse serviert bekommen.
